TYPES OF REPRESENTATION
Traditional Full Representation
An attorney or law firm performs all legal work on a client’s case. The fee charged for representing a client is based on time, complexity, and nature of the representation.
Limited Scope Representation
What does it mean?
An attorney or law firm may provide legal services for a specific discrete legal task(s) rather than full representation, such as assistance in completing legal documents.
What are the benefits?
A reduced cost compared to full legal representation.
What are the drawbacks?
The attorney or law firm would be responsible for completing a specific task(s), while the client would be responsible for the remainder of the representation.
Is this available and appropriate for everyone?
It depends on the complexity of the case and the client’s preference. If the client decides to retain our firm, we will explain and explore this option upon request.
What happens if the client wants to change to traditional full representation?
We may change from a limited scope representation agreement into a full representation agreement.
